Reachability

In less than 10 minutes there is a grocery store as well as the city centre of Arensburg reachable. Directly at the house there is a big parking area and 4 bicycles are ready for your usage

Overview of the location

Kivika is located on the island of Saaremaa and lies 10 km east of Kuresaare, directly at the baltic sea. Behind the house you can go swimming at the lake. Interesting fact: Kivika is not only the name of the vacation home, moreso it is also the address of the property itself. 

Garden and Nature

The house is surrounded by a natural juniper garden. From it you can reach the baltic sea shore in roughly 5 minutes by foot. 200 meters behind the house there is another bathing location: A lake. Due to the calcareous soil, the water is crystal clear and you can see down to the bottom of the lake. If needed, there are also 4 bicycles that can be used. At the house there is a parking area available for 3-4 cars.

Kivika - The House

A terrace on the ground floor of roughly 80 m² is located directly adjacent to the living room and on the upper floor you can find another terrace of just under 20 m². On the ground floor there is the entrance area with wardrobe, the living room with the open kitchen, the bathroom with a shower and separate toilet and the sauna. In the living room there is a wood stove that stores heat for the whole house.

Panga Cliffs

The next morning we drive over the southern peninsula of Sõrve. We drive past pine forests on the well-maintained road 77 and at the end of the peninsula we are greeted by the Sääre lighthouse.

Kaali Meteorite Crater

After a delicious Kama drink – that is yogurt with a powder of rye, oat, pea and barley flour – in the museum café, we arrive at the Kaali meteorite crater field. There are nine craters to see, the deepest one measures 22 meters.

Kiipsaare tuletorn

Harilaiu Peninsula is the most beautiful and ancient part of Vilsandi National Park. It has been a protected area for fauna, flora, and geological study since 1924. The Harilaiu hiking trail starts from the car park of the Harilaiu recreation site of the State Forest Management Centre. The longer 10 km marked trail passes over the Harilaiu isthmus and runs to the Kiipsaare lighthouse in the northwest.

So we continue into the interior of the island, to the mill hill of Angla. In this museum there are several of the windmills that can still be seen in many places on the island

Burg Kuressaare

Kuressaare Bishop‘s Castle, popularly known as „Kuressaare Castle“ or „Arensburg Castle“, was built in the 14th century. Today the castle houses the Museum of Saaremaa. The permanent exhibition about the history of Saaremaa can be seen in the cloister of the upper floor and in the two large halls. The permanent exhibition on contemporary history consists of two parts.
